This is a snapshot of my testimony, that I wrote for my old Jesus Rules Ministry web-site 7 years ago, however it still mirrors the same thoughts I believe today. Titled; My life with Jesus. It's impossible for me to write it all down, but it shouldn't be another excuse for me not to begin sharing Christ in my life with others. In my mind and heart there is so much information and miracles, it's hard for me to start. I can share a head on collision impact at 35 mph, waking up unconscious 40 yards away with a severe headache. Watching my beloved dog do somersaults in the air from hitting a car on its door side at over 30 mph, only to see a scratch on his ear, after landing on his feet. My personal healing from cancer to poison oak. And the greatest gift for me, is experiencing His love and presence in my life, continually.
The other side of the good is that I've also suffered loss. My cat being accidentally let out and having his neck snapped by a coyote. Losing my heart by someone who crushed me and left. But through it all I have become more aware of God. He leaves us with the choice of decision in every circumstance in life. As I become older the right decisions are becoming clearer now, because I've been blessed with being kept in His Word, experiencing life with the Truth of the Bible. Sometimes His Wisdom was far from my desires, but it was still in my thoughts as I went through life. I'm so grateful of His patience with me, as I'd been doing it the hard way for so long, yes very long. I'm still guilty of many mistakes but living in his Love, is making it easier to let go of myself and trust Him. The greatest advice I could share with anyone is read the BIBLE, so you can be taught and experience the living Word in your life. The BIBLE says that if you seek him, you will find him (God says to read the Bible). Jeremiah 29:13 English Standard Version (ESV) 13 "You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart." Proverbs 8:17English Standard Version (ESV) 17 "I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me." John 7:16-17 King James Version (KJV) 16 "Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me." 17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
From my experiences in life, and also from reading God's word, I can say the Lord is so patient with us, but its our responsibility to try and find him.
The photo at the top was taken of me in the summer of 2004, on my 450 Honda CRF, after hitting the takeoff lip, tapped out in 3rd gear, pre-loading the rear suspension for all it was worth, and tripling into a set of quads, flying over 60 feet at the El Cajon Super-cross track. I'm my own living miracle. Prior to the photo, I was forced to retire from the sport that was my passion since the age of 13. Too many crashes had begun to fuse my neck so that my hands couldn't feel the handlebars after riding two laps, being terribly numb. Before riding motocross again, the previous 8 years were spent chasing a few BMX National titles to stay entertained. But now I've been able to ride again due to answered prayer, by Gods miraculous healing through a Christian Brother Chiropractor Derek Rupp in Rancho Santa Fe. In the sport of Supercross I'm nobody. But before the super-cross track closed at El Cajon, God's grace allowed me to feel like a rock star at 48 years old ( some days I did suck though). And presently I'm hitting all the jumps at Barona Oaks motocross park. Through my relationship with Jesus Christ I'm flying 90 feet through the air, riding the A practice, with some of the best riders in San Diego (When the Lord allows). Riding at this level on any day seemed impossible a few years ago. But let me shout it from the rooftops "Jesus Christ is Lord and is the ultimate power and force of this world and in my life.
In Biblical times Jesus healed those with broken spirits and also many physical ailments, but many people refused his message, which in a word is Love. All that Jesus did was founded in Love. (1Jo 4:16) "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love, dwells in God, and God in him." The relationship, grace and blessing's I've been able to experience in my life are available to anyone, who desires the same. God promises, that if you draw near to Him, He'll draw close to you. James 4:8 New Living Translation (NLT) 8 "Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world." How can you have a relationship with the Lord? With Gods blessing and power you can begin the eternal experience of His presence in your life. Here is some direction from God, (Psa 19:7) "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple." God's desire is, your acceptance of His Word. That's the beginning; He accepts you regardless of the limitation you impose on yourself. Through reading the Word you'll spend your life learning that the greatest sin has been unbelief of Jesus Christ. God's Word can convert your soul and allow His Love in your life if you allow it too. (Psa 19:8) "The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes." Here it is, God's Word will make your heart rejoice and you'll be able to see life, as God would reveal it. (Psa 19:9) "The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether." Fearing the Lord is healthy: your existence depends on Him forever. Praise God that his justice and promises are true. (Psa 19:10) "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb." Imagine if you could believe this. God's Word is more precious than Gold. I've been called to encourage and share this Truth, to those He draws and sends across my path. God's Word outweighs any value of Gold! One of the first things Jesus asks a disciple to be, is what he was seeking; John 1:38King James Version (KJV) 38 "Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What are you seeking ?".
Ask yourself, what are you seeking in this life? No matter what's going on in our lives, it won't compare to what Jesus has in store for those, who try to seek him by listening to his words (The Bible). If we take this action, He welcomes us. Its also written, that He won't turn away anyone who seeks Him.John 6:37 "However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them." I personally like the word never. In the book of Proverbs, the promise states that love will cover all sins. Proverbs 10:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 "Hatred stirs up problems: but love covers all sins." Sounds easy enough, but its a different story when you try and live it, especially to those you love, that hurt you. This is what God says about love; 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New Living Translation (NLT) 4 "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud" 5 "or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged." 6 "It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out." 7 "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." The Bible also says; "no man is sinless". 1 John 1:8 English Standard Version (ESV) 8 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." But this shouldn't be an excuse, to deny Him all our effort, in being as He was by living in love.
One more time, It takes a decision on your part to seek God. Fear God and give Him the praise worthy of His name. He created you and has a plan of eternal life for you through His Son Jesus Christ. We've been condemned with a curse of death from the beginning of man's existence, because of not following His command. Man chose to eat the apple in the Garden of Eden. But God who is faithful has sent His Son to give us life again. Receive Jesus and come to Him. Hear the message from those God spoke to in the Bible. Fear God, your life depends on Him, (Psa 66:16) "Come and hear, all you that fear God, and I will declare what he has done for my soul." (Psa 66:17) "I cried out to him with my mouth, and praising him as I spoke." Pour out your pain and hurt to the Lord and celebrate your blessings by giving Him praise. He created you and has given a promise of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ. Read the Bible and ask the Lord to reveal the Truth, of the living Word to you. (Psa 66:18) "If I had not confessed the sin in my heart my Lord would not have listened:" Be sad that you have refused His Word and love by being stubborn in your own way, confess your failure to Him. (Psa 66:19) "But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer." Yes God does listen and pays attention to you. (Psa 66:20) "Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer and did not withdraw His unfailing love from me." God doesn't ignore you, nor does He ever stop loving you. These few scriptures are only a droplet of mist compared to the unending rain of Truth, Love and power promised to us in the Bible.
The Bible is God, read the scriptures and begin to discover. John was a beloved Disciple of Jesus and was empowered through the Holy Spirit to reveal this to us, (John 1:1) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Word is God, when you refuse the Word you are choosing your own way, because the Word is God! These are all one in the same, the Word, Jesus Christ, and God, which all add up to the message of having a relationship of love with God. Praise be to the Lord for revealing His truth and loving us. Jesus Rules Ministry has been blessed by God with the compilation of Scriptures to answer normal questions people would have for God. All the Scriptures come from three non-denominational Bible translations of the Holy Bible. One version written in the 16th century King James Version, another version New Living Translation is from the early 90's and then the third English Standard Version is contextualized to our current 20th century language.
