I've been gone for a few months from this blog, as its unimportant to me to scribble a bunch letters, for the sake of just doing it for either attention, or for my own vanity. But today its raining, and I'm experiencing a wealth of information that could potentially bless someone else, so i feel inspired to share a part of it. Obviously I've been praying today and will continue to do so, as I try to share something i believe could be meaningful for someone else. But before that story begins, allow me to fill in the gap of the last few months, on the progress of the outreach for the ministry.
Long story short, is that I'm now a Skateboard vendor at a local swap meet "Kobeys", due to one of my supporters of the ministry, who asked me to partner up with him. It was his dream to open up a store up North, and he thought i would be a good fit for running his business down here. As his new store becomes self sufficient, my control and share of the business in San Diego will increase. Since the ministry is being financed through my own pocket by God's blessing's, making some extra cash will speed things along. More importantly though, is that he'll be making discount purchases for me on soft goods (Like helmets/ Knee-pads/ gloves/ etc...) for the kids to use during the clinics. Now back to the story, that I'm led to believe as potentially valuable for someone.
During the adventures of my life, I've always invited Jesus to be with me. My prayers to him included; courage, peace, joy, strength, protection, and to be empowered with the ability to perform. This choice of action wasn't some magical fairy tale for me, instead it has and always will be the core of what i know as a living Truth from God, made available through the faith given to me by trusting his Son! This gift of faith wasn't a result of my own intelligence. If God had let me go through life on my own thinking without consequences, i could easily be in prison.
When i was younger, I made bad choices that were easily justified in my thinking, when I didn't know the Lord. But by God's grace, he stepped into my life and gave me discipline in the form of punishment to fit the deed of my actions. Even though the Lords word was invisible at that time, his hand of retribution for my actions was clearly understandable and visible to me. So those experiences were the beginning of my relationship with God. i can't say those experiences will happen for everyone, since it is God who decides if and when he chooses to reveal himself.
But what i can say for sure, is that the Bible says if you seek him, you will find him and be blessed;
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.
1 Chronicles 28:9
"And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
Psalm 9:10
Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 14:2
The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
Psalm 34:10
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Psalm 53:2
God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
Psalm 119:2
Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.
Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.
Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
The previous passages reveal that God desires us, to seek him. The journey for seeking the Lord began for me, when I began to doubt my courage when a good friend became paralyzed and it kinda rocked me, since we were both motocross racers. Shortly after this tragedy which was some 39 years ago, I was deceitfully invited to a lovely girls home, only to find out that she was on mission for Jesus Christ. Well that was just too weird for me at the time, however it did plant a seed of curiosity, that i just couldn't shake. And soon after i set out to prove once and for all, whether God was real, or not.
By God's grace, I was allowed to receive Jesus Christ as the absolute Truth, regarding all that exists. The main element of getting me to this recognition of reality, was reading the Bible. If you choose to read the Bible, you'll find out if God is real and that Jesus was sent to save you from the curse of sin upon man and help you in this life. A passage of Scripture saying to follow him, and then you'll know its real;
John 7; 16-18 King James Version (KJV)
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 He that speaks of himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
One of the only good things I've ever been consistent with, is the decision to stay in God's Word, no matter what decisions I made or what direction my life was going in. And embarrassingly I can say, that many, I mean many of my decisions were absolutely wrong. you might ask me, why i made bad decisions if i was reading the Bible and in some sort of relationship with Jesus? The answer; is that I leaned on my fickle feelings and emotions many times through life, rather than trusting and waiting for guidance and direction from the Lord. But by his Grace and the Lessons he's allowed me to learn from, I've slowly surrendered my stubbornness and become closer to God.
This closeness allows me greater peace/ joy and more happiness than I could of ever imagined, because i now trust God. Nothing in the Universe cares for me more than God, and when i acknowledge this in my life, the blessings follow suit. One Scripture relating to this blessing is as follows;
Ephesians 3 New Living Translation (NLT)
18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Last week I wrote this simple statement to a friend, which sums it up; " I refuse to fight God any longer, since I choose to ignore my ignorance of his Truth". All people can choose whether to skateboard by them-self, or choose to invite the King and enjoy the blessings of his presence. If you are unaware of the blessings from God, I would recommend looking over the Free Scripture Guide book on this web site. i spent my life compiling the information, and then the Lord had me condense it into an easy to use Scripture Guide book. The book on this website was a labor of love. Over 4 years and easily 5000 hours. Thank God through the name of his precious Son Jesus Christ, that I can shout from the mountaintops that " Jesus is King and the Supreme One, Worthy of all Trust and Honor!" I personally choose to Skate with Jesus Christ!
